Agencies are prohibited from providing direct monetary support for Journal Clubs, but agencies may nevertheless support a journal club by providing a modest meal or the provision of approved product literature. If an agency chooses to support a journal club with a modest meal, approval from Arthrex is not required. However, agencies must ensure the venue is conducive to the exchange of information and that the agenda reflects the intended purpose of the program.
Meal limits are as follows:
$55.00 per person - Breakfast/Lunch
$175.00 per person - Dinner
2 drinks per person - as to not impair judgement
(these totals include drinks, tax and tip)
Transfer of Value submittals to compliance@arthrex-southflorida.com must include the following for journal clubs:
- brief description/summary of discussion with agenda
- attach copies of materials
- sign in sheet
- ALL names must be legible
- Must include NPI numbers
- itemized receipt
- if sharing cost with another company you still MUST obtain an itemized receipt
- expense report (in excel format)
